18th Gurupoornima Celebrations 2013 in Trivandrum

TechnoparkToday.com(july 2013)>> As part of our Gurupoornima Celebrations 2013, A thirteen Hour {13 hour} continuous program on Indian Music, on July 21st, 2013 from 9.00am to 10pm at YMCA HALL Thiruvananthapuram. H. H. Uthradam Thirunal Martanda Varma, Hon. Ministers of State, other dignitaries, renowned musicians from various parts of India and maestros of various art forms will be present for this solemn occasion to offer their encouragement and support to our budding musicians, and would be inaugurated and witnessed by H.H. Uthradam Thirunal Marthand Varma Maharaja

The event will conclude with a five-hour grand finale concert Madhuvanti Sandhya – ‘The Evening Ragas of Mewati Swati Gharana’, featuring well known musicians like Pandit Ramesh Narayan (vocal), Shri. Prapancham Ravindran (Mridangam), Udayaraj Karpoor (Tabla), Aswin Walawalkar (Santoor), from evening 5pm to 10pm. The event is jointly organized by Pandit Motiram Narayan Sangeet Vidyalay, Kerala, Society for Protection of Cultural Heritage and YMCA, Trivandrum

The Pandit Motiram Narayan Sangeet Vidyalay (PMNSV), Kerala, is a registered voluntary organization with the main objective of popularizing Indian classical music, Khyal Gayaki of Mewati Gharana & promoting Indian artistic tradition and rich cultural heritage of India, constituted in 1996, Sangeet Martand Padmavibhusan Pandit Jasraj Ji, as Patron and Pt. Ramesh Narayan as Chairman. The organization has held a host of programmes inside and outside India, highlighting the importance in preserving and promoting classical arts with a view to encourage art tradition and cultural heritage of India.
