Work on SmartCity to Commence in September

August-29-2011: A high-level meeting of the Dubai Government Project Monitoring Committee that took place on August 21, 2011, has decided to begin the work on SmartCity on September 29, 2011.

At the meeting, the Committee also allocated sufficient funds for the first year’s construction work.

The work on a ‘SmartCity Pavilion’ would begin on September 29 while the construction of the company’s headquarters will start on November 19.

The meeting was chaired by Ahmed Humaid Al Thayar, the Chairman of TECOM. Two other senior officials of TECOM, Abdul Latif Al-Mulla and Adnan Chiwani, also attended the meeting apart from SmartCity Kochi’s Managing Director Baiju George, National Bank of Dubai CEO Suresh Kumar, M.A. Yusufali.
