It is quite surprising to see such an event happening in technopark.
So there is some visibility for technopark.

  2. Unfortunately none of the local media reported this news. If this was held in kochi, this would have been in the news for more than a week. Really sad………

  3. Local medias are local people, they only publish the news of murder, robbery and death, accidents etc…then only they can increase the readership

LOCAL MEDIAS ARE LOCAL, IN EVERY MEANS… 🙂

  4. Hi
Before posting local comments against local medias please go through the local news locals……

    http://www.mathrubhumi.com/thiruvananthapuram/news/1190004-local_news-thiruvananthapuram.html

  5. @ Giri, Its only in the “Local” page. If this was conducted in the “Other city”, the media will telecast this as the first one in prime time news.

  6. @SANDY Please read the second comment.

  7. Thats exactly correct. if something is happening in cochin, the entire media people will be boosting it up. because all of them are having big real estate and big infrastructure investment in cochin, especially before the conception of smart city. and they all are wanted to see the development there.

Anyway, Trivandrum would be booming than Cochin, and even if such media mafias are not promoting trivandrum, trivandrum itself will glow.

    The future is here….

  8. So give live in the “other city”, much better than living in a “local” city and stop cribbing.

  9. well said manesh. Vizhinjam International port and Technopark (Phase1, 2 , 3 and technocity) will change the face of this city. Even if the local media are avoiding this city, its getting enough attention in national media.

Technopark is huge, as big as Electronics city, ITPL in Bangalore . But Trivandrum is a very small town, as small neigbouring marthandam, attingal, nagercoil. Its needs more infrastructure (widened roads, high mast lights, flyovers, underpasses, monorails) hitech hospitals, Multiplexes.

Let Leave trivandrum city. Atleast area around technopark (kazhakuttom, karyavattom, pangapara and kulathoor) should prosper. Big shopping complexes, star hotels, Good eateries (not just some non-veg way side eateries which serve beef, mutton and paratto only), Branded shops (lady wears, children wears, food malls, bookshops etc ) should come around technopark. There should be round the clock transport facilities carrying techoparkians to heart of trivandrum city and back to technopark area.
All tube lights in road side area of these places should be replaced with sodi vapour lamps. At all central places, high mast lights should be installed.
The kazhakuttom railway station should have basic facility.
    Sreekariyam needs flyover.
Most importantly, like in technopark, Bandh, hartal, party meetings, trade union movements, should be banned in these areas.

  11. You guyz are absolutely right. Our “Local” media wants and promote news like PEEDANAM, HARTAL , AKRAMAM only. We have to kick out all these channels from our state.

  12. Yes thats exactly correct. The channels and news papers are keen to cover all such sort of Accident, peedanam, maranam, murder, robbery stories.

for example, in a school van tragedy happened a couple of days back, malayala manorama posted colorful and exclusive photographs of the people who are crying and weeping because of the sad demise of the small children. the newspaper just published them in big, and earned more circulation. They are doing such dirty tricks as they pay homage to the died children, but they are using the emotions of the near and dear people of those unlucky children. this is how they are increasing the subscription and I’m really scared to open news paper everyday because only god knows what kind of weird stories and photographs are awaiting me.

I Hate all ‘MA’ newspapers ..

  13. The IT investments in Kerala has to come from outside. So it is important how the national media portray the investment opportunities in Kerala and that is what the companies look at. Its sad that Kerala has built the perception of a State of Hartals. The challenge is to break this perception and convey the message that not many IT operations are disturbed due to the frequent hartals that are declared. The other perception is around our diversity and inclusion.

Here is where the local media can play a vital role. Try to show the functions that were operational on a hartal day along with what were broken down….. Try to showcase the potential of the local talent and that we are pretty open minded in accepting diverse talents across the country.

If we are bringing this to the attention of the techies in the country.. we are making a very good first step!

  14. Would love to come down and settle down in Trivandrum any time. Whenever I visit my parents, I have a feeling that I am Missing out on many things like wide roads, better infrastructure, better greenery, pollution free environment, wonderful places to visit and wonderful people who are really really frank. But waiting for an opportunity…..(currently I am in Bangalore)
