Title: Controller, International Operations

Requirement: The Controller, International Operations will be expected to assume the role and responsibilities of a strong business manager focused on maintaining strong accounting and financial controls over international operations in India and United Kingdom, supporting Corporate accounting and finance team, improving business efficiency and supporting the head of local business units in delivering continuously improved results and higher returns on investment. • Financial Planning and Analysis: – Co-ordinate and participate in the financial planning process for business units in India and UK – Lead and coordinate the development of automated general ledger and related systems to upgrade reporting and consolidation of information in the US corporate headquarters Compile and analyze of information from various functional departments – Derive explanations/clarifications and prepare management reporting including detailed performance commentary. – Work pro-actively to support decision making on specific issues to improve performance efficiency and action plans for future success. • Controllership : – Financial Manager: The controller is responsible for ensuring compliance with Policies and Procedures of the parent corporation and also with all requirements of local law and to develop, maintain and document compliance with internal controls. – Commercial and Contracts Responsibility: In this role the Controller is expected to participate in all decision making, particularly which results in a financial commitment on behalf of the subsidiary company. – Cash Management and Custodianship of Assets: The Controller s responsible for recording and ensuring safety of cash accounts and all other assets belonging to the company or in the custody of the company – this responsibility is discharged by ensuring presence of adequate controls and by taking adequate insurance. – Co-ordination of Internal and External Audit and Tax Filings: The Controller is the first point of contact for the local Auditors and will co-ordinate the entire audit ensuring availability of information, records and people. He/she will agree on implementation of recommendations and will sign off on the Audit findings with the business unit head and the US Controller. • Acting as the Conscience Keeper: In any business unit, one of the most important roles that the Finance leader plays is that of a conscience keeper ensuring that the interest of the company is always protected and that personal issues do not cloud business decisions. • Cross-Functional Manager: Act as mentor and manager of a staff of at least three direct report employees. Work closely with the HR Manager on matters of employee relations, compensation, merit or bonus programs and the like. Work closely with the business applications staff on best practices for reporting operating metrics and performance improvement strategies.
