IIITM-K, in association with ARS Software Engineering Pvt Ltd, a company specializing in Intelligent Transport Systems located in Technopark, is conducting a course on Intelligent Transport Systems for the students of PGDIT offered by the institute. The course is open to external participants and starts in the first week of August. This is a unique example of industry-institute partnership where a technology company has come forward to introduce a new high technology subject, and provide its own experts to give lectures as well.
“The application of technology in traffic and transport is a field that doesn’t receive the academic attention it deserves. There are rapid worldwide market developments that require the innovative application of IT. Major research questions are pending and the relevance of ITS in India is huge, both as provider of services and for the domestic market. IIITM-K is in the forefront in conducting a course of this nature, it’s good to see these initiatives taking place in Kerala.â€, said Martijn van der Spek, Managing Director of ARS Software Engineering.
Registration is still open to external participants, and interested candidates may contact IIITM-K office (phone: 0471-2527567). For course details refer to http://www.iiitmk.ac.in/wiki/index.php/AY_2009-2010/Sem-1/ITM135_Intelligent_Transport_System
