TBIG to Open Marketing Office in Germany

TBIG technopark, tbig Tech expo technopark, technology business incubator technoprkTechnoparkToday.Com>> March 15, 2013 – The consortium for Technopark Incubated Companies – Technopark Business Incubation Group (TBIG) – has signed a MoU with Bavaria Business Centre – Nuremberg, one of the leading Business Centres in Munich to open up an office space for TBIG companies for networking in Europe. The MoU was signed at the recently concluded IT event – CeBIT 2013 in Hannover, Germany in the presence of Principal Secretary for IT, P H Kurian IAS and Technopark CEO K G Girish Babu. This development was announced at a press conference by Minister of Industries and IT, Shri. P K Kunhalikutty along with Shri P H Kurian.

As per this agreement the Start-ups operating from all the TBIs in Kerala can take up Office space in BBC – Nuremberg. The MoU ensures VISA and legal support for the company representatives and German entity registration with 100% ownership. Selected companies will have Initial funding option up to INR 7 lakhs. The first batch of company representatives of TBIG will be flying to Germany in April to open up marketing offices. The MoU is part of the Nuremberg Fuerth for Excellence Support Program for Foreign Investors (NFFX) funded by Free State of Bavaria. The cities of Nuremberg and Fuerth also get the help of cooperation of the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support Indian companies setting up operations in Bavaria.

Govt. of Kerala had sponsored five start-ups from TBIG to showcase their products and services at CeBIT 2013.  Congratulating TBIG for this development, Shri P K Kunhalikutty said, “We are happy that our decision to sponsor some start-ups to international events has yielded positive results. Our objective was to give them opportunity and exposure of the global international market and the first step towards this was a success. We shall ensure more start-ups in future get the opportunity to participate in future IT expositions in India and abroad.”

“CeBIT participation this year was a success. We could touch base with more than 100 business leads across the world and in all likelihood we are hopeful to realise over 10 deals in two months. Deals with prospective resellers and local consultants were made and various co-incubation opportunities for TBIG companies were also explored.” Said Shri P H Kurian IAS.

Technopark CEO, K G Girish Babu appraising on the CeBIT visit, said “Many companies from Germany and other places have expressed willingness to expand operations to Kerala and they would be visiting our facilities in the coming future.”

“The visit helped the start-ups to gain exposure to the global technology and business scenarios, interact with people from various countries, listening to key people from the IT giants like IBM, Microsoft, SAP directly. Now our start-ups can start their marketing operations in Germany. In fact companies from Germany have also expressed willingness to expand operations to Kerala.” Affirmed Technopark TBI Managing Director, Dr. K C Chandrashekharan Nair.

As per Mr. Lepeesh Parat, President, TBIG, ‘The delegation from TBIG had a great experience at CeBIT Hanover and have come back with some great lessons about the global market and technologies. We hope to take forward this experience to develop world class products and services.” He added that the membership in TBIG is now open to all start-ups working in Kerala Technology Business Incubators.
