TechnoparkToday.com>> August 30, 2013: – A five member high level delegation from Kumla City of Sweden, led by Mayor Katarina Hansson, visited Infopark to study the investment opportunities and growth plans in Kerala IT as part of their weeklong visit to Kochi city. Infopark CEO, Hrishikesh Nair, welcomed them and briefed them on the initiatives of Kerala IT in general and on Infopark’s role specifically. The Mayor was accompanied by Kumla City Council Member and Opposition Leader, Mats Hellgreen, Chief of Water Management, Marcel Minnegal, Chief of Waste Management, Anders Larsson, and International Coordinator, Ted Rylander.
Kumla City Mayor, Katarina Hansson, visiting the Infopark campus said that “We are visiting Kochi with the purpose to conduct a feasibility study on three-year long projects that can be carried out between Kochi and Kumla City and look at various investment opportunities in Kochi. I am really taken up by growing Kerala IT and the infrastructure facilities available at Infopark for the growth of IT and the way the IT industry is transforming the society.”

The Mayor and delegation were taken through all the facilities of Infopark and also interacted with CEOs of top IT Companies within Infopark to know how the IT industry is helping and transforming the society.
Sweden delegation has expressed its investment opportunities in drinking water, waste management, education, information technology and e-governance with Kochi. Last year a conference on Swedish International Council for Local Democracy (ICLD) and Kochi Corporation also had taken part in the conference. ICLD initiated communication to outline feasibility to find areas of interest where both Sweden Cities and Kochi Corporation can work together, thus, the Sweden authorities expressed their consent to work together with their three municipalities; Kumla, Wamland and Harida and Kochi Corporation.
Infopark Chief Technical Adviser, K. Kurian, Asst. Manager Administration, Regi K. Thomas and Deputy Manager – Marketing, Arun Rajeevan were also present in the meeting with the delegation.
