TechnoparkToday.com: In any random sample of techies there is a fair probability of 80 percent being technically very strong. Also, there are wizards and legends who gain a better exposure by giving an average of 3 interviews a week. This translates to just a one line, which is, competition is real stiff. How you sell yourself in a job market is all that matters. Some tips for that intelligent-you to surpass the other techies!
Carrying one-self does more good than expected. It sends a silent yet strong message to the interviewer. Business formals are the preferred attire. Be calm yet composed and wear a simple smile. Carry a confident aura and never sound over confident. Give a firm handshake both during entry and exit.
Anything that is put in resume should be well conceived within yourself. Be smart enough to talk a couple of lines on the project that was done even in the initial phases of career. Save more time for the latest project and have a well-rehearsed piece on it.
To the maximum extent possible give genuine responses. Over doing or under playing is a big no-no in today’s job market. Don’t throw facts and figures unless it is valid. Wiser it would be when supported with evidences or references.
Until the topic of remuneration comes up be patient. There is no hurry to demand after making a lasting impression; it would come all by itself. Give a hint towards the end on other opportunities that is waiting around.
Never provide a feeling that there is a dire need to shift job. This is a negative message which will never get the better fitment that you deserve. This signal will just make the interviewer question on the competency.
Talk good things about the current employer and sensor the not-so-good-things. This doesn’t mean boasting loyalty; it just means being neutral and undisturbed. This saves face in both places and individual’s values go up.
Beyond all this have rehearsed answers on “tell me about yourself”, “why should we hire you”, “where you see yourself in 5 years from now” and “why are you leaving your current employer”.
Such simple things make a difference. Crack interviews with ease and grab offers !
