TechnoparkToday.com>> Techies can now enjoy good meal without making holes in their pocket. Samraksha, announced by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in his Independence Day speech to deliver meals at affordable price, has opened an outlet at Technopark campus. Samraksha, the project by prisons department aims at providing quality food at low price, has launched its outlet at Technopark on Saturday near the Nila rear gate (California).
A packet containing five chapatis and chicken curry will be available at Samraksha for Rs 30 , which was priced Rs 35 before and a packet of five chapatis with egg curry will cost Rs 22 and that with vegetable curry will Rs 20. A packet of 10 chapatis will cost Rs 20.
Prathidhwani, the socio-cultural organization of Technopark employees, had submitted requests to Jail authorities and home minister earlier for this. And their sincere efforts resulted this outlet in Technopark, and now techies can get quality food in a much cheaper price. Thank you team Prathidwani!

let us use this facilities to the maximum, also we will keep up pressure for a “cafe Kudumbasree” restaurent. it will give partial freedom to us from looting of certain food lobbies of technopark.

Good things started happening in technopark. food related problems are the very long pending for quite sometime. only a very few restaurants in technopark is serving even average quality food. food in technopark is costly, but not worth for the money spending. may be because of various reasons – that we have to ask food vendors and authorities. but new initiatives like this will bring more options for techies. kudos team
Dear Techies. Dont think the food outlets in TP looting your money. You think about the operation cost of these outlets in TP. Electricity charges, water charges and finally the BIG RENT amount paying to TP. IF TP officials deciding to decrease RENT and service charges, the benefit will be to all techies. Actually this is the issue. No one looting you… all are trying to make their daily bread and butter…!!
Thanks for the clarification. if so, the authorities should fix the price for food items and according to that they should be ready to adjust the rent and other charges. if techies can come forward, it can be discussed and implemented.
If this counter is going well, we will ask for one more in upper side
Rent part is driven mostly by middlemen ( remember Thejaswini FC contractor escaping ?).. do some thing towards it please.
Techies are paying premium price for below average quality food. we cannot tolerate it always. anyways jail chappathi will make people think twice and rationalise prices or rents ..
will the Jail chappathi counter open for the entire day or for any specific time? If that’s the case plz share the working time of the counter .

Dear Sir, please note that point that, currently no middle man action is going in Tejaswini food court. The middle man already left the place nearly 1 year back. TP authorities themselves running it now. But no change in Rent and service charges.
🙂 that is something, you guys should question first. employees will be happy to help genuinely priced vendors.
But the fact remains that there are people in TP, who try to extract employee’s money by constantly increasing prices and reducing quantity. I dont want to give any specifics now. but this steps are a warning to them. employee organisations cannot be spectators all the time.
This move will not help the employees in the long term . I have done an extensive work during the tejeswani food court transition from the food court owner to technopark as we operate out of tejeswani . Unlike what all of us thought, none of them are making any profits and many are running under loss . Even after Technopark took over a few have closed down due to non viability of operations neither the restaurants in other building are profitable as well., they are all selling foods below par price even compared to hotels in Kazhakootam while paying huge rent and electricity charges to technopark .You can see most of the restaurants in Bhavani /Nila is either closed or on the verge of closing down .according to my easements together they provide employment close to 1000 people as well . by introducing these kind of cheap outlets , we are undermining our own interests and likely job loss of 1000 people. Should be support these employees or the criminals in the jail ?. is it ethical ? we will end up with no options but to have whatever cheap junk by these outlets. Instead of this Technopark/GOK should subsidies the rental and utility charges for the restaurants so that they can provide competitive pricing .

I think you should even avoid travelling through Poojappura ..
We are waiting on Kudumbasree officials to start their restaurents here at subsidised rents(CM & IT dept in principle has agrred for the same).It has good taste as well as helping hand for poverty eradication of women. it is employment too 🙂 .. it is ethical as well. Also Criminals are not outcasts from society, they are send to jail but still part of society.

Whenever people used raise voice against high food prices, we were dealt with threatening voices and stubborn acts. AFAIK there is no much good will to technopark restaurents left from techies.
There should be a breakfast counter near technomall also that operates in the morning hours

Just a doubt, Is the food items cooking inside the jail by prisoners hygienically ?. Please clarify if you have any details..?
