  1. Good initiative…avoid all things that will pollute our mother earth..say no to plastic, smoke, CFC, crackers, Endosulfan etc…

  2. Why can’t you people start a campaign against the crackers – which results environmental pollution and sound pollution

  3. Super joke, nice marketing strategy.. But please understand that there are lot of persons making living out of this cracker business. And that too once in a year, its part of the celebrations. If some person’s dont like that, let it keep in their mind, than doing this type of show off. Some day’s back, near technopark front gate, there were loud horns making noise pollution, where were these persons? And in kazhakuttom great noise pollution from temples, Will these persons react? Why they reacting like this for festival celebrations coming once in a year? This is pure show off. Shame… . And many days there were chenda melam and other noise pollutions in front of bhavani, affecting other companies. How many of you had reacted?

  4. You are exactly right Ramesh, this pure crap.

  5. Ramesh, I strongly disagree to your points. yes i can understand your argument – many people are making a living in the crakers business. its same as the baseless statements by the BAR employees in liquor business. some practises are not good and that should be stopped. opportunities are endless, and those people can work on other industries. But crakers makes air pollution sound pollution and dangerous also. do you know how many buildings are catching fire during such seasons? the recent one is nearby pettah during this diwali.

How many other ways are there to celebrate diwali? the cracker business is not giving any extra benefits to the people who are working on the crackers industry for daily wages., their wages are very less and they are working in a very dangerous environment also. All the profits are made by the middlemen in the cracker business.

I appreciate the people who take a stand against using crackers during diwali. the senseless use of cracker causes disturbance both to the environment and people.

  6. This is a good initiative, and more support would be there in coming years. appreciating the guys behind this initiative, spending money and causing pollution.

  7. Mr. Naveen, what Ramesh said is totally true. Each job has its own respect . If you don’t value that, you are living in 19th century. Same as like some old people say’s that IT or lawyer profession is bad. Lot of peoples there saying against IT job. claiming it bad. It pure foolish thinking that other opportunities are there and we should quit it. Your talk is same like that. It’s the people who celebrate , decides how to celebrate. If I like to celebrate Diwali with crackers, its my freedom, and no one has the right to celebrate without crackers. If one feel to advise or command like that to celebrate Diwali in a particular way, its interfering’s one’s right. Only Malaya lee’s has this tendency. Lot of sadhachara polices are evolving out of this. Narrow thinking. And because people like’s crackers, lot of shops too in market… how can you deny others wish? If people like to celebrate its their own wish, Keep it in your mind , if you don’t like.

  9. How can you say that somebody can celebrate the way they wanted. Especially during diwali, some places some people are celebrating it without any responsibility. they are blasting crcakers late night and becoming a disturbance for the people and animals. its same for all cracker blasting ceremonies and events – many people are afraid to react since it many go in to a communal tension. anyway – celebrating any event is not the right of people – especially when it affect others.

the point here is how we can avoid crackers to celebrate diwali, crackers business is not ethical once since lot of people are working in that industry not getting even basic remuneration and lot of child laborers are working there, and not adequate safety precautions are there and thats why we are hearing accidents every year.
