TechnoparkToday.com>> November 17, 2014: Natana, the cultural organization of Technopark employees, is joining hands with Technopark to promote and bring to the tech crowd a long-standing and much prevalent entertainment art of the golden old days – Akshara Slokam.
It is a poetic entertainment developed in Malayalam language and is considered as an active forerunner of the present day Anthakshari. This form of entertainment still draws epicureans but it has lost much of its sheen and the appreciative crowd is getting thin due to many reasons. Firstly, the absence of stalwarts of the earlier era.
Secondly, few people can find time to cultivate such hobbies. Lastly, there are other diversions which have greater pull and are less taxing on the brain.
In this backdrop, Natana is supporting this unique art form, which needs to be propagated to a wider audience. What better opportunity for us to support artists, who have dedicated their lives to this art form.
Be there at Travancore Hall on Tuesday, 18th November at 6.00 p.m. Members of Vidyadhiraja Akshara Sloka Samithi, Trivandrum will perform.
Noted poet Murukan Kattakada would inaugurate the gathering.
