Technopark’s First Floodlit Cricket Tournament Concluded

TechnoparkToday.com>> On 12th December, as the moon rose in Trivandrum sky, Technopark cricket grounds burst into a vibrant night filled activity and fun, with the techies and their families participating in Technopark’s first ever floodlight cricket tournament. The tournament witnessed intense contests between 24 of the top corporate cricket teams in Trivandrum, with RR Donnelley emerging the champions beating Infosys in a keenly contested final.

The community sporting event, the first of its kind in Kerala, was  held all night long (6:00 pm to 6:00 am), on 12^th, 13^th and 14th of December as part of T-League, Technopark’s first inter corporate multisport extravaganza, organised by Sportz4You. The event attracted around 500 people, most of them young techies, their families and friends turning up to cheer their colleagues and enjoy a relaxing evening at the floodlit arena.

“Our kids had night-long fun, watching cricket and running around on lush green grass. It was so welcome a change from the daily monotony of finishing studies and going off to sleep”, said Murali Nair a techie. To spice things up a liitle bit, Sportz4You had arranged for food stalls that serve authentic Malabari cuisine, lip smacking snacks and soft drinks that kept all well-fed through the night.

“Community sports concept is extremely popular in countries like Germany, Australia, South Africa, etc – we are extremely happy that people in Trivandrum enjoyed the experience. We promise to bring more such experience to the citizens of Trivandrum” – remarked Rahul Thomas, CEO of Sportz4You, the organizers of the event.
