‘Child Care Hub’ opening inside Technopark Campus

Daycare Center’s construction is being progressing in Thejaswini building.

The Trivandrum chapter of e-WIT (empowering women in IT), Technopark, and Kudumbasree have associated to start a crèche inside Technopark campus. The creche is named as ‘Child Care Hub.’ This is expected to be launched by second week of January 2015.

e-WIT has started providing training for Kudumbasree members who will be the caregivers in the crèche.

e-WIT spokesperson said play school of 1000 sqft area was being set up inside the Thejaswini building with the support of sponsoring companies.

A crèche is a much exciting initiative in Technopark, where more than 45000 youngsters are working. Techies find it very tough to manage parenting and professional work. Introduction of crèche inside the campus will be a big relief for techie parents.

Technopark CEO Gireesh Babu told TechnoparkToday that the facility will give quality child care at affordable costs. “It is a long pending demand of technopark community. When the idea of a daycare in campus mooted, we had only two conditions. It must not be a money-making institution and it should provide quality service. The caregivers should be well trained. Training for the kudumbasree workers, who will be assigned as caregivers, has already been started. The rates of the daycare will be well affordable for Technopark employees, “ he said.

Bangalore based professional agency RAACE will impart soft skills and behavior training of the crèche caregivers.

“I and my wife are both working in Technopark. We tried several baby sitters for our 1-year-old daughter, but we were not satisfied. If there is a crèche inside the campus, we can go and see her often during working hours.” Said Mukesh MG a Technopark employee.
