‘Prakruthi’ plans an Organic Onam for Techies

prakrthi new newsTechnoparkToday.com: ‘Prakruthi’, a joint go green initiative by Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action (CISSA), socio-cultural organisations (Natana, Tejus, and Prathidhwani), and Kerala State Horticulture Mission, plans an organic Onam this year. As part of the campaign, the employees will produce required vegetables inside Technopark itself.

“Prakruthi is to make the employees self-reliant by producing 150 grams per head or 600 grams per household of organic vegetables inside the Technopark campus itself. As the first phase of the programme, a team will be set up with 60 leaders who will be given a two-week training on best practices of organic farming”, said Divas Sivadasan, event manager of Natana.

Agriculture Minister K P Mohanan released the logo of ‘Prakruthi’ campaign at his office here recently.

Technopark will be an ideal location to launch the organic farming campaign as it houses around 45,000 IT professionals which includes 15,000 women.

State Horticulture Mission director K Prathapan, CISSA general secretary C Sureshkumar, agriculture expert R Heli, C K Peethambaran, Biju Sundaran, Divas Sadasivan, Nadam R, Krishnaprasad, Brijesh P I, Shigin and Subin P were present during the logo release.
