Technoparktoday.com>> ‘El Beso’ a film by Mahesh Periyadan was crowned the Best Film Title in the Chitra Bharati Film Festival. This is the second award for the critically acclaimed film. El Beso was awarded the Best Film and Mahesh Periyadan – the Best Director in QISA 2015(Short Film Festival conducted by Prathidhwani, Technopark).
Chitra Bharati Film Festival is an event organized by a committee under Bhaiyaji Dani Seva Nyas. The festival was held from 26th till 28th Feb 2016 in Madya Pradesh. The prime focus and goal of this festival is to promote film culture among youth as a tool for raising concern on social issues.
Films were invited in four different categories – Short Films, Documentary Films, Campus Films & Animation Films. A total of 200 films participated in the festival, out of which 110 was shortlisted by Jury panel. El Beso was awarded the Best Film in Short Film category.
Madhur Bhandarkar(National Award Winning Director) handed over Trophy and INR 51000 cash prize to Mahesh Periyadan. Veteran Director Rahul Rawail was also present in the award distribution ceremony.
Mahesh Periyadan is a Techie working in UST Global and he is passionate making short films. In his two short films, he casted children to play main roles.
About the Movie El Beso :
2nd November is All Souls’ Day in Mexico. A Catholic tradition in which churches commemorate the dead by praying for their souls. Rituals include visiting family graves and remembering deceased relatives. Edgar with his mother comes from Texas to Mexico on 2nd Nove to pay homage to his younger brother Oscar at the Cemetery. They were startled seeing the opened grave of Oscar. The story goes through different emotional scenes….
