Parking vehicles in Kazhakootam Railway Station is Safe???

Parking Area in Kazhakootam Railway Station

Technoparktoday.com>> Techies from different parts of the state are now dependent on Kazhakootam Railway Station, to go to their native places during weekends. But have we ever thought about parking our vehicles at the station premises will be safe?

Usually Friday evenings, many techies board the trains parking their vehicles at the station. It would be shocking when they come back on Monday and find their vehicle missing.

Recently, a Techie Arun Kumar, working in a Technopark based IT company, on his way back to Trivandrum, was disgusted seeing his vehicle unlocked and he was unable to start his bike. Later he identified the battery wires were cut. He travelled to his native on Thursday evening and returned on Monday, due to a long weekend. While parking his bike, he found two guys suspicious in the parking area. He did not take it serious, since he was in a hurry to board the train. But even now, the details about the muggers are unclear.

Sources say that another vehicle was missing from the parking slot during the same weekend, but Thumba Police confirmed that there are no cases filed on the same till now. Even there are complaints where the petrol from the bikes are being stolen.

Few months back, the paid parking system was implemented in Kazhakootam station, but soon it was withdrawn. ‘It is surprising to hear the Thefts at Kazhakootam Railway Station Parking area which is just opposite to the Excise Office. As safety is concerned, it is better to have a paid parking with security. And probably having CCTV cameras can stop these issues’ – Jose – a techie said.
