TechnoparkToday.com>> Filmmaker Sudevan started a movement for people’s cinema in a small village called Peringode in Palakkad. His CR No. 89, where villagers turned into sublime actors, was made with just Rs 7 lakh – which he got as contributions from people and DVD sales.

One of the finest Malayalam films in recent times, CR. No. 89 won the State Award for the Best Film in 2013 and the NETPAC Award for the Best Malayalam Film at the International Film Festival of Kerala 2013.

He is working on his next project: a suite of five short films in the length of a feature. The budget is likely to be Rs 15 lakh and will be made under the banner of the collective Pace Trust. They have got Rs 6 lakh. He is looking for funds from people who love his films and who want to support good cinema. It doesn’t cost much: it could be the price of a cappuccino, a pizza, or a shirt. That money, in his hands, will turn out to be extraordinary cinema.
