Visit Kolukkumalai – An Exclusive Ladies Trip by Appooppanthaadi

Appooppanthaadi – a voluntary group of travellers with a motto ‘Wanderlust’ headed by techie traveller Sajna Ali, organizes yet another trip exclusively for Ladies to Kolukkumalai on 6th to 7th August 2016.

A Silent, Early Morning drive from Cochin on August 6th will see you reaching Munnar by early morning, all set to soak in the enchanting views this little hill station has to offer. Our stop point is Anayirangal dam, a water spot for the Elephants. On the way we will be stopping at Lockhart view point and photo point for a sneak peak of what is in store during the trip.

After freshening up and satisfying our hunger we proceed for a 30 minute fun-filled boating rendezvous and if lady luck decides to shine we could even spot the Elephants quenching their thirst and having a bath. After this, we will travel to Suryanelli from where the true adventure begins.

Our journey from here will be by jeep along jumpy-bumby rugged terrain to Kolukkumalai,one of the world’s highest organic tea estate standing tall at 2300 mtr ASL. A thrilling ride leads to the camp site were after a small briefing session we would head towards the Kolukkumalai tea factory for a guided tour. Dinner around campfire with the cool breeze giving you chills is an experience to be cherished. Over night stay in tents under the stars.

Wake up early the next day to view the spectacular sunrise. After breakfast proceed to trek up kurishumala peak. A moderate trek of 3 to 4 hours will bring you back to the campsite ready for lunch, after which we will commence our journey back to Kochi. If time permits, we could stop at the water falls along the way.
