Trivandrum Management Association invites nominations for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award from corporates

tmaTechnoparkToday.com>>  Trivandrum Management Association (TMA), affiliated to the All India Management Association, New Delhi, invites nominations for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award from corporates in public and private sector. The award will carry a citation and plaque. Winners will be decided through a selection process in accordance with the provisions of the new Companies  Act.

The CSR award was constituted since 2011 with the objective to honor a limited Company which has carried out noteworthy Corporate Social Responsibility Projects during the current financial year. The Award is to propagate the message that large companies ought to do a lot more than offering employment and providing products or services. The companies Act too has been amended recently which stipulates earmarking 2% from the profit exclusively for CSR related activities.

TMA has instituted the award with the the objectives, to popularize CSR activities among organizations, to widen the scope of CSR activities for the benefits to reach the common man, to promote healthy competition among organizations with respect to CSR activity.

A Jury consisting of eminent personalities will scrutinize the nominations for the award and to select the winner from companies from across the State. This year’s  award ceremony is planned during the Inaugural  session of the annual convention of TMA namely TRIMA 2016

scheduled for 8th December 2016 at 6.00 pm at Vivanta by TAJ, Trivandrum .

The award will be for CSR programs implemented in any one of the following categories:

 

    1. Activities connected with eradication of poverty & malnutrition
    2. Promoting education including education for the differently challenged.
    3. Gender equality and women empowerment.
    4. Ensuring environmental sustainability & ecological balance, Agro forestry & Animal Welfare.
    5. Conservation of National heritage, art & culture.
    6. Measures initiated for the benefit of armed forces veterans, war widows and their dependents.
    7. Training to promote rural sports, including Paralympics.
    8. Contribution to PM’s national relief fund & any other fund set up by the Central Government for the development of SCs, STs, other minority classes and women.
    9. Contribution of funds to technology incubators.
    10. Rural development projects.
    11. Slum area development activities.
