ASHLING – The free Debugger Software from NeST

Ashling Microsystems – a division of the Technopark based NeST Group, has announced the launch of a fully functional and unrestricted simulation debug software, PathFinder-XD to ease the design of electronics systems. The software is now available for free download on websites of Ashling and NeST.

In a release, N Jehangir, Vice Chairman & MD, NeST Group said, “The PathFinder-XD Simulator Software is the first in a series of new embedded software and hardware tools we are planning to roll out from our Ashling Division. With our development facilities in Trivandrum and our manufacturing facilities in Kochi, and Bangalore, we will be launching high-tech cost effective tools for ARM and MIPS architectures by the beginning of next year.”

Designers of embedded electronics systems are faced with the challenge of debugging the complex software that runs on them. The availability of efficient tools will help designers in quickly debugging their software and thereby get their products to market faster. PathFinder-XD, a C/C++ source debugger based on the Eclipse/CDT framework, provides full support for debugging bare-metal and embedded Linux based applications. The software operates on Linux x86 and Windows hosts.

This particular product will also make available to students, amateurs and professionals alike as a full-featured tool with simulator functionality that will help to jumpstart any projects without investing in target hardware. Presently none of our competitors are offering similar software as a freely downloadable product
