Only 63 percent said they will vote this election. When 20 percent said they won’t vote this time, 17 percent are yet to decide.  Surprisingly, 46 percent hate politics while 54 percent don’t.  Ninety percent have voter’s ID card and the remaining 10 percent are yet to apply for the same.

Another major question raised in the survey was whether they favour a ‘none of the above’ option in the electronic voting machine. Interestingly, 63 percent do not want the candidates offered by the parties and are in favour of ‘none of the above’ option.   61 percent oppose regional parties which do not have a say in the national level.

Some interesting comments appeared in the survey are as follows:

  • Itz just the question of choosing the lesser of the two evils.
  • All the old people from the parties should be either sent to home or sent to any old age homes. The country should be given to the hands of the youth. Only then India will succeed.
  • I prefer there should be a tracking system meant for tracking the development of activities in each month.  Kind of review meeting assessing the performance of the government at the end of the month and this should be disclosed to public through media.
  • The system is corrupted itself. I am not interested to vote and screw me up!
  • Vote is the right and responsibility of a citizen . Vote is a strong tool for the common man in the democracy. Use it wisely.
  • Instead of making promises for the next election, the politicians and parties need to refer theprogress of their previous promises (that were met and not met). In addition to the promises, they should highlight the current situations (developments) in the state like water scarcity, road condition etc. Based on this info, the people should be able to make a convincing decision.
  • There should be provision to vote for non contesting leaders whom we believe can help us to save this nation.
  • Existing Government will return to power miraculously.
  • I will support the political party, which will fuel the development of the country not controversies
  • I have voters id card, I have voted in the past elections. But this time my name is removed from the voters list. Inspite of my repeated efforts to add my name to the list, it is not added. I am not getting proper information on why my name is not added to voters list. I am keen to vote but without my name in voters list, how can I vote?
  • no way….suffering is our fate.
  • WE NEEDS LDF GOVERNMENTS FOR COMPLETING THE IT REVOLUTION.NO OTHER GOVERNMENT HAVE IDEAS ABOUT IT.
  • We need change. we don’t want to vote for who have been cheating us by years
  • Let it be any party, nothing will change. I will vote because, there should be a change at least in the ruling party. The serving term should be reduced to 2 or at least 3 years for any change to occur.
  • Election should be conducted in Friday, Sat, Sun or Monday
  • The idea of providing voting right to NRIs is welcoming. I have applied for including me and my family members name in the voters list. Hopefully these applications will be accepted based on the new developments for NRI’s can vote.
  • Politics should be seen as a way to serve the country/region not a s a way of thickening ones’s pockets.  In kerala, even the basic infrastructure is so bad. Bad Roads, Dirty Environments, Corruption everywhere especially in Corporation offices etc, Files seem to be stuck for ever. people working in Govt. offices seem to think it is our responsibility to get the file moved. As a result people look for better places to live on and move abroad. The loser is our country and our people as most of our talented people work for foreign countries and foreign companies.
  • I do support more independents and smaller but effective parties to come up in elections.
  • Keralites are much matured than the other states as they give turns to every party, of course except the BJP(otherwise Kerala will become Gujarat in no time). Of course the problem with this system is that the ruling party knows its tenure beforehand and will dedicate most of the time to filling its coffers in the limited time of 5 years rather than doing anything good for the people.
  • LDF will come again/
  • Why should I spare my valuable time which I can utilize for other things that might benefit me to vote when it is either this Devil or that Demon??!!!
  • Democracy is a shame especially in india. There is scam starting from the sweepers to the judiciary. There are loopholes everywhere. India has become a place where politicians makes laws for themselves..
  • I hate corrupt politicians and politics.
  • It is not politics that is bad, but politicians.
  • The mindset of people of kerala has to change. After Every 5 years they are selecting the opposition party thinking that they will be better. This is happening every year.
  • Indian politicians are waste
  • None of the above option should be provided
  • I will give my vote only for V.S.

  1. very interesting details. this shows techies are not out of the game. they are very much in to the politics and all the current affairs happening around them..good job guys..

  2. One guy mentioned “Keralites are much matured than the other states as they give turns to every party, of course except the BJP(otherwise Kerala will become Gujarat in no time)” what does he mean?? is he referring to the gujart riots?? Is he not aware of the development taking place in Gujarat. I will remind him of some facts. The man he was probably referring was Narendra Modi, which even United States states was the only non-corrupt chiefminister in India, courtesy-Wikileaks. It is this CM who thinks beyond religion and demolished 2000 illegal HIndu temples causing obstruction on the highways. It is this CM who ordered police firing on even the HIndus, as a result 286 Hindus killed in the riots. Will the Pseudo-secular commies ever do this??? Keralites wouldnt learn. They are “Prisoners of Ideology”.

  3. Actually we need visionary leaders like Narenda Modi. I’m a hardcore fan of Modi, even if me and my family are the firm followers of congress. If Modi is in election I would vote him for sure.

  4. recent development shows the actual face of congress in India. the UPA govt is the most corruptive govt. in India ever seen.

I don’t think the congress can get any advantages in this election. according to my understandig the LDF will win this election.

Politics is corrupted, irrespective of the parties. but congress is a party of corrupted politicians, and they are doing it as wholesale. the spectrum, commonwelth, Justice Balakrishnan, CVC ..the lists are endless.

  5. I think, some partialities shown in above opinion. these opinions are given under ‘Intresting comments’ what is the intrest behind ‘LDF will come again’
I think such type of opinion should not publish. nothing found with these opinion. Both LDF and UDF have its own disadvantages. one guy mentioned in opinion ‘WE NEEDS LDF GOVERNMENTS FOR COMPLETING THE IT REVOLUTION.NO OTHER GOVERNMENT HAVE IDEAS ABOUT IT’ he is not realise the realafacts. Once Computer came Marxist pary oppose computrisation. They try to avoid smart city, finaly they do something. Just befor decleare election they give 4-5 page advertisement on news paper. I think UDF is little better than LDF. Also UPA. Are you ever think how India sustain recession? most of the countries face somany problems. But it is not affect India.

  6. Sajan,
India is not affected by the recession not because ot the UPA govt or its politicians. its because there is a huge gap between the per capita income of people ‘Having’ and ‘Have not’

  7. I think LDF should win.

  8. LDF needs to be win..otherwise the fellow congress people will play another big scams and they will even sell the entire country.

Scam Raja – Spectrum Raja kee jai….
azhakiya nidhi karunaanidhi UPA support kee jai
    Kalmaadi kee jai

  9. Last 5 years were one of the best days in Kerala’s History.
    Truth had an Ambassador…V.S.Achudanandan.
This election is a test of Truth against Fake and Corrupt Nationalism…
    Truth Will Triumph….
    V.S.Achudanandan Will Become Victorious…
    V.S. Will Rule Kerala Again….

  10. I think this Assembly election is the waterloo of corrupt politicians vs. VS.
League will finish because it is being driven by Kunjalikutty( because UDF will not come to power) . TM jacob party / MVR / Gouri Amma will be routed in this election. V>S will become the next CM. People have a big faith in him due to his clean image
