India – A most dangerous place to live in

For all those who believe that India is becoming an increasingly dangerous place to live in, here are the numbers that back that belief.

India’s rank has fallen seven points on the Global Peace Index (GPI) 2011, which ranks countries according to how peaceful they are. India now ranks 135 out of 153 countries. We are now amongst the 20 least peaceful nations in the world, along with countries such as Pakistan and Afghanistan.

At rank 80, China fares a lot better than India. While sub-Saharan Africa remains one of the most violent regions in the world according to the GPI, most countries in Africa and nearly all countries in Latin America and Eastern Europe rank above India.

Pakistan fares worse than India with a rank of 146 on the GPI, thanks largely to the easy access to small weapons in the country coupled with high levels of internal conflict and terrorism. Despite China’s poor human rights track record, Killelea says that China’s relatively better performance has much to do with low levels of homicide and violent crime in the country, as well as a much lower potential for terrorist attacks.

In the name of various organizations there has been a steady campaign against India ever since it has a become a competent economic power. Terrorism sponsored by neighbors on one side, creation of economic hurdles on another side by imperialistic agencies etc have pushed us to the wall many times. Our resilience has made us to fight back and we establish our growth in all sectors. Recently British scientist have claimed they found an antibiotic resistant super bug in India and they named it as Delhi super bug. It was done to harm our reputation we have gained in the medical field and to prevent the flow of patients from the so called developed countries. We have an excellent track of Democracy where we elect our own representatives and despite high levels of corruption,we have progressed well in all fields. Ours is one of the oldest civilization and we have inherited the richest values from our forefathers and we regard all human as one and try all means to safeguard others freedom. India is a land of all religions and we do not have long standing major communal conflicts despite many attempts by some vested political leaders. In America, we hear of violence even in campuses where students take arms against teachers and schoolmate is very high in many western nations and the authorities are trying hard to suppress it. In those states moral and religious values have degraded a lot and we find many in wilderness. All the antisocial activities erupt from those places which many regard as heavens. Who are the people behind this Global Peace Index?Check pout heir identities .You will know the motive behind putting us in poor limelight.

A forum like Technopark Today should not get carried away by these type of Anti India remarks and join their chorus to spread confusion and shame among us. We have nothing to gain by spreading the smear campaign.. This forum ( Technopark Today) is mainly viewed by many youngsters and the organizers of this forum should not take pains to make them skeptical about our great country. JAI HIND

  2. But my thoughts are bit different. In India, the cheapest thing is its citizen’s life. Nobody is secure in India, and anybody can kill anyone, if they have enough money to hire a good criminal lawyer and some connection to the political parties or the politicians.

But the so called western countries are not like this. there would be strict laws and legal systems which gives utmost care and priority to individuals. India is not a secure place, even if we say it is. it is not the matter of reputation among the other countries, its the matter of the human beings living and treating like the street dogs in this nation.

What kind of economic growth is there? thats quite natural. we have the human power and the growth will come when the world is growing. We can’t deny or ignore our present situations, instead we have to deploy strong mechanisms to avoid such insecure situations in our country.

I think such discussions should happened and people should know what is happening around them. India is a great place, but we can make it more better.

  3. This is really interesting news as we as the same time which is very insecure situation for all our country

Did anyone know that according to Crime Records Bureau the rate of conviction in the Indian Legal System is an average of 14 % only.

consider this If someone commits a crime he has almost 86% chance to escape and only 14% of put in jail…. what do you think a someone will choose. Do a crime and make some undue advantage or live a righteous life and get what ever is due to you, if you are lucky enough to be let alone by those on the lookout for undue advantages.

Face it “In India…it is easier to become a criminal , than become a up-straight person.”
