In Netherlands, Ministry of Economic Affairs and consulting firm McKinsey & Company started ‘New Venture’ as a business plan competition to support innovative start-ups.
And the competition as usual was held in 2011 also. And the finally the announcement came. The Food Innovation Award 2011 goes to the south Indian recipes ‘MEENU’s Idli.
South Indian recipe ‘Idli’ is unfamiliar for the people in Netherlands.
The idea was lighten up by a malayalee couple “Dr. Rajiv Krishnan Kozhikode” & his wife “Remya Velayudhan Neela”.They named the recipes as Meenu’s idli.
And they introduced Idli with the side dishes Sambar and chutney. Their concept was healthy fast food.The healthy fast food alternative and affordable for young and old will soon be on the streets of Groningen via food trucks are out event at € 3.50 per serving. With success, “Meenu’s Idlis’ roll throughout the Netherlands. Not on wheels, but in small kiosks.
Once again malayalees had established their talent outside India, making South Indian dishes famous in Netherlands.
