A Plea to Our New Representatives…

Election results are out and the picture is clear, MS Sangeetha of LDF will represent Aattipra ward which hosts Technopark in Trivandrum Corporation. The IT heart of the state, Kazhakuttom, will be represented by R Sreerekha of UDF.

We, techies, are putting forward some of our long-pending demands that need immediate consideration. As a Corporation councilor, we hope this will not be a Herculean task for you. Though techies do not have electoral rights in this ward, we hope, that won’t be an excuse to deny the basic facilities.

Hundreds of vehicles are making a beeline to Airport, Technopark, and Kinfra everyday. But a permanent traffic regulation or traffic signals are not installed at the busy Kazhakuttom junction. We want to get rid of the tag of an accident-prone area.

The road connecting Technopark main gate and Kazhakuttom is devoid of streetlights. This too was a long-pending demand. Techies, including women, who are returning after night shifts, are facing lots of difficulties because of this. They are often welcomed by stray dogs and inebriated men from the road-side toddy shop.
Daily, hundreds of people arriving Kazhakuttom to reach Technopark and Kinfra for interviews and other purposes. There is not a single comfort station at this place. They have to depend on local hotels for their urgent needs.
