A Technopark company bus on it’s return trip caught fire in the city two days back. However nobody was injured. A couple of engineers were evacuated from bus. It was most likely an electrical fire, according to one of the passengers. The driver quickly evacuated people from the bus as soon as he noticed sparks and fire emanating from within.
This incident suggests that the condition of transportation systems needs to be strictly re-evaluated by the responsible authorities within each company. Some companies offer free transportation while others charge a nominal amount while in other companies employees have formed unions which offer transportation for a nominal amount.
There are hundreds of vehicles in Technopark and companies like NeST, Dimentions, Case Consult, MSquared, Toroid, etc. have their own transportation facility. Other companies have employed contractors for their transportation needs. But who will ensure that the vehicles used by them are in proper condition? Earlier we reported on the pathetic transportation of TCS ( it’s a wagon tragedy ). If we compare the transportation facilities of Technopark with those of other IT destinations, most of the companies in Technopark will rate below average.
instead of each company having its own bus, all companies should come together and have hourly trips to city, with more buses and ksrtc joining during rush hours
