ABC: City Prefers Bicycles

>>Athirup’s bicycle club (ABC), first cross city bicycle club in the state, is becoming popular.   ABC’s cycle racks in major places like Kowdiar, Vellayambalam, Vazhuthacaud, Museum, Sasthamangalam, Bakery Junction, Thampanoor, Pazhavangadi and Kesavadasapuram is the hot favourite of bicycle lovers in the city.  An average of five cycles will be seen at each of these spots.

ABC has various kinds of users.  If some are using the service for daily transportation, health conscious men and women in the city using it for exercise.

The specialty of the club is that users need not return the cycle to the starting location. They can park the cycles after use in a rack near their destination.  The fee varies according to the use.  The club now charges only Rs 50 for monthly users.  The maximum usage time is 2 hours for the monthly users.  For those who want the cycles for a week, they are available for Rs 100.

Athirup is planning to extend the service to Technopark too. Cycle racks planned at Technopark and Kazhakootam are expected to be helpful for the techies.
