Next is ‘Android Nougat’ ; Not Neyyappam or Nutella

TechnoparkToday.com>> Google has officially revealed the next version of Android will be called ‘Android Nougat’. Nougat is a family of confections made with sugar or honey, roasted nuts, whipped egg whites, and sometimes chopped candied fruit. The consistency of nougat is chewy, and it is used in a variety of candy bars and chocolates.

Google unveiled the name of Android’s new version on thursday by removing the drapes over the new statue at its headquarters.

Apart from Nutella, the other contenders were nutmeg, nectarine and India’s very own Neyyappam – a desert, that traces its origin to the southern Indian state of Kerala

Android Nougat’s statue features Bugdroid standing over nougat bars. No other details have been disclosed about the new version of Android.
