ARS T&TT India, the technology partner for the Thiruvananthapuram Smart CityTraffic Management and Enforcement systems, welcomed the panel of delegates led by the Mr. Marten van den Berg,The Dutch Ambassador to India and his team Mr. Joost Geijer (The Economic Counsellor, Embassy New Delhi), Mr. Luit-Jan Dijkhuis (Senior Policy Officer, Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management) and Mr. Heine Lageveen (Deputy Consul General). The delegation was warmly greeted by the team from ARS T&TT consisting of The Managing Director-Mr.Manesh V.S, Technical Director- Mr.Praveen Babu, Head Delivery- Mr. Umesh J, Head of HR-Mrs. Eustine Thomas, and PresalesHead-Vishal Francis.
A briefing was provided to the delegates on the technologies and solutions implemented by ARS T&TT in Europe and India. As a company with Dutch lineage, the stakeholders of the company explained how technology and solutions from the European sector were realigned to the needs of the Indian traffic and transport sectorto benefit the public.
While discussing the multiple award-winning SmartCity implementation of Surat and other solutions delivered to Indian customers such as “Accident Response System” for Madya Pradesh Road Development Corporation and“Fleet Management” for Petroleum sector PSUs, the challenges with managing expectations with Indian clients were discussed. At the meeting, it was agreed that bringing in cutting-edge technology and quality levels that meet the growing infrastructure maturity in India has great potential for cooperation.
It was firmed up that traffic and transport solutions have a distinct role in the resolution of issues associated with global climate change. Ensuring better mobility for vehicles and access to efficient public mass transport facilities reduces the carbon footprint in cities by a large margin. The delegation affirmed cooperation on green initiatives as an essential outcome of the meeting.
The visiting team was pleasantly surprised by the timeliness and efficiency followed by the 24X7 operational “Traffic Control and Monitoring Centre [TCMC]”services team of ARS T&TT India, that proactively manages and maintains the traffic and transport systems in the Netherlands.Dashboards that reflect the real-time state of operational transport systems in The Netherlands was demonstrated by Senior Service Manager Sunu D Jacob and the service team.The delegates were impressed by the attention to detail available at hand for the support engineers, all in compliance with required security and privacy norms.
The ambassador was introduced to the women’s day program organized by ARS T&TT to create awareness of gender bias in workplaces. He identified it as a problem faced in many parts of the world and had a high appreciation for the initiatives here. The delegates freely interacted with employees of the company including the lovely ladies wearing blues signifying counter-biases. The ambassador also greeted the company and shared his well wishes for the bright future of ARS T&TT with his warm words, during the session.
After principle agreements for continued cooperation between ARS T&TT and the Dutch Embassy in the coming futurefor providing a platform for sustainable technology innovations, the delegation parted to continue with their schedule for meeting the Kerala government officials.
