“I booked an online ticket (Rs 700) from Kazhakuttom to Madurai through the website, redbus.in. Â The departure time of the bus, as per schedule, was 6.00 p.m. from Kazhakuttom. Â Â But only when we reached Kazhakuttom, we were informed that we had to board from another point. Surprisingly, the reason was that there were only three passengers to board from Kazhakuttom!!!
We were asked to reach Model School junction by 7.00 pm. We took a taxi and rushed to the next boarding point and reached there at 6.45 pm. Then we realized that the bus had stated from Model School junction at 6.40 pm. Soon we moved to another boarding point in front of Swathi Thirunal Music College, Thycaud and finally got the bus.
The trauma not just ends there. When I complained to the bus authorities about this strange incident, their response was even stranger. They used abusive language and insulted me for complaining. I know this is not a single incident. Some of my friends have experienced similar cases. So I filed a complaint with the consumer court forum.
