The fifth edition of Barcamp Kerala will be conducted on May 3rd 2009, Sunday at TechnoPark,Trivandrum. This is the second time technopark is hosting the greatest tech event in kerala – Barcamp unconference.The first ever Barcamp in kerala was also conducted at Technopark. and that was a phenomenal success. the first barcamp was sponsored by UST Global and CIAN Technologies.

The concept behind Barcamp

BarCamp Kerala is an ad-hoc gathering rooted in the desire to share and learn in an open & friendly environment. It is an intense yet cool, event with discussions, demos, and strong interactions among the participants.

The concept of barcamp is pretty cool. This is an event with out any formalities or hardcore rules. the ideal barcamp philosophy is much more identical to the open source and open knowledge sharing culture. barcamps are normally sponsored by tech companies like Microsoft,IBM,Oracle and other individual tech savy people.So Free food, free internet and free knowledge sharing would be the main attraction of every barcamp unconferences.

It was the fifth barcamp that has been happening in Kerala in the past 2.5 years. Its so far been an amazing experience for all the attendees here. First difference this camp had was the amazing venue provided by tecnopark which made people feel at home.
