The Kerala State Film Development Corporation Ltd (KSFDC)  is going all out to promote the e-ticketing facility available at its theatres in the city, ie Kairali and Sree. Launched as a pilot project last August, the facility is now going in full swing at these theatres. The trial run has been a success, the ticketing for ‘Pazhassi Raja’ being an example. The facility is available at 10 theatres run by the Corporation, ie two each in Trivandrum, Cherthala, Thrissur, Palakkad and Kozhikode, besides Kalabhavan theatre in the capital city.

The project, which comes under the purview of the City Corporation and Urban Development Department, has technical support from Pentacircle Informatics Ltd, based at Technopark. Two servers have been put up for the same.

The reservation is in the mode of a railway reservation system. The highlight is that the entire reservation procedure can be monitored by officials of the City Corporation and KSFDC. The daily collection can also be ascertained.

The tickets will be issued in three ways. Besides online booking, reservation can be made through the e-counters at the theatres. Balance tickets will be issued via the ticket counters. Reservation can be made online using credit card or net banking.
