CERT-K to organise Cyber Security Workshop for IT Companies

The Kerala Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-K) is organising a Cyber Security Training Workshop for IT Companies in Trivandrum . The full day workshop for IT Security Professionals, Web / Network and System Administrators will be held at the Park Centre in Technopark on March 26, 2011.

Topics like Cyber Security – within the company and outside for Clients / Customers; Application Vulnerabilities and Case Studies with a Kerala perspective, will be handled by eminent professionals from the industry. Of late, Kerala has been facing a surge in cyber attacks, especially on Government websites and this training assumes significance as many Technopark companies work on Government projects. The workshop will also focus on the need to strengthen security incident response as well as to take proper proactive steps to ensure cyber safety and security.

This cyber security training will provide information security professionals a broader understanding of the challenges required to secure Internet-based and networked computer systems and defend critical IT infrastructure from cyber attacks. Cyber attacks can result in critical business losses. Cyber criminals and hackers often target firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems and access controls to penetrate the network and cause serious damage to network infrastructure and electronic data.
