A study conducted by IDC and commissioned by Microsoft has put the number of job opportunities that will be created in India by 2015 as a result of cloud computing at two million.
These jobs will be created in manufacturing and communications and media. The banking sector will see an additional 1.4 million jobs.
Of these, one million jobs will be created in the small and medium business sector.
According to IDC, cloud computing generated $600 billion in revenues for businesses around the world and 1.5 million new jobs in 2011.
Further, the spending on public cloud IT services in 2011 was estimated at $28 billion, while the total spending on IT products and services was $1.7 trillion.
