The plan of Technopark authorities to open a Fire Station inside the campus got an unexpected hit due to the declaration of assembly polls. The required infrastructures are now ready and the station is all set for functioning; however, the inauguration is now getting delayed due to the existence of model code of conduct.
Technopark authorities handed 60 cents of prime land near the Bypass to the Fire and Rescue Services and spent about 10 lakh for the office space near the Ginger Hotel. Â Â All the facilities, including two fire engines, one jeep and an ambulance, are ready for the station.
The Fire and Rescue officials waiting for the approval of Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, who had been designated to inaugurate the Fire Station.
Currently, Technopark has to depend on the Fire Station at Chackai in case of an emergency. Â The presence of a number of building complexes and density of employees increase the risk factor. Â Â Many companies in Technopark have raised concerns about unnecessarily delaying the start of functioning of the Fire Station.
