Prevention is better than cure. Preparedness is insurance against loss of life and property. Accident hurts, Safety not. Nothing is more important than the health and safety of employees. It needs your commitment to integrate health and safety practices into all aspects of work informed
Mr. K. Venkateshwarlu.

With more and more calamities becoming rampant, preparedness always helps. This fire drill we conducted is a method of practicing the evacuation of a building for a fire or other emergency. Generally, the emergency system (usually an alarm) is activated and the building is evacuated as though a real fire had occurred. Usually, the time it takes to evacuate is measured to ensure that it occurs within a reasonable length of time. And the Mock drill is a practice and there is no real fire, so that Building management Staff and concerned professionals can constantly hone their skills.

The impacts of natural and human-induced hazards are increasing with population growth and climate change, causing immense losses to the society. Besides their impact on the society and infrastructure, disasters are also one of the biggest challenges to the growth of the society, observed K. Venkateshwarlu.

A Mock Drill is the testing of the efficacy of Disaster Management Plan. Lot of homework has gone in to prepare this and then conduct a mock drill which may last only a few minutes, said Venkateshwarlu. It is a participatory method to practice the safety-related measures and evacuation of a building during an emergency situation, he said.

Living has become tough. Heightened terror alert, bomb scares, sophisticated explosions, chemical weapons, not knowing when your laptop battery gets overheated and bursts, cigarette ignited fires causing deaths all these together demand a proper safety and security process in place, he observed.
