Dreamcatcher charms Techies

TechnoparkToday.com>> We have presented you lot of talented techies. Now we are introducing another talented person, whose hobby has turned her into a busy bee.

Chaitra Jyothi, employee of a Technopark-based company, is popular through her hand made product – dreamcatcher. Chaitra was charmed by Dreamcatcher when she first saw it in Instagram. Chaitra had a tough time finding one when she went out to purchase dreamcatcher. When she finally got one at Varkala, it was just a localized version, which is a far cry from the original.

Fed up with this, Chaitra decided to make one through self learning. Chaitra told Technoparktoday that she found the right kind of raw materials from shops in Chalai. “I initially gave it as gifts to friends. Slowly the demand increased. Now dramcatchers are being purchased to give gifts to clients in offices and for friends. I have even received orders from abroad,” she said.

Orginated among native Americans, dreamcatcher is a handmade willow hoop, on which is woven a net or web. Beads and feathers too are added. It is traditionally used to hang on cradles as protection for babies from evil elements.

Chaitra getting orders for dramcatchers through her facebook page Asphodel Creations.  The dramcatchers will shortly available in Techie Counter at upcoming Krishippura outlet in Technopark campus.
