Facebook launches Safety Check App

TechnoparkToday.com(Oct, 2014):  The new app – Facebook Safety check app launched by facebook allows the users in a disaster location to communicate their status to their loved ones.

The application can understand each users location, and reaching out them if there is a natural disaster in that area, with a text message  – Are you Okay? and send the reply to their friends via the Facebook news feeds.

The app idea came from the japanese engineers in facebook, and the thought process was the situation during the tSunami incident, on such a situation, including any other natural disaster like earthquake or tornado – many people may get displaced or isolated  and such an application can give their status to the world, even if they wanted any special help from others.
