UST Global is conducting GOAL 2011 – Technopark’s premier football tournament from September 18 to October 15, 2011 at LNCPE Grounds, Kariyavattom. This year, the Technopark football community can look forward to more action, as the football stars of Technopark give it their best. Here are the essential details of Technopark’s biggest football event:
Registration
As the number of teams participating in the competition has been restricted to 24, registration will be accepted on a first come first served basis. A company can have a maximum of two teams and each team needs to be registered separately. The following mandatory details should be furnished during registration:
- Name of the company
- Name of the team PoC
- Contact no: of the team PoC
- Backup contact no:
- Design of the team jersey – please send as a jpeg file
Registrations should be sent to [email protected] on or before September 7, 2011.
Format
The tournament will be played in a league cum knockout format. The matches will be 11 a side matches. The fixtures and rules for the tournament will be communicated to the final 24 teams.
Ladies Penalty Shootout Competition
Ladies of Technopark are also invited to be a part of the inaugural “Penalty Shootout Competitionâ€. A company can sponsor a maximum of two teams (7 lady members/team). The first 16 registrations will be accepted. Send in your registrations on or before September 7, 2011 with the following details to [email protected]

Really happy to see getting more fans and acceptance for the football in technopark. It really means a lot, because now a days everybody is behind the time killing cricket. everyone wanted to become a IPL star and earn in millions. Our people are only interested in playing cricket, which is played buy only a handful of countries.
Get in to the real game, the football. Thats the fun…. Let us prove our selves by competing with the actual sports stars.

It will be more interesting if it is a sevens match so that the small companies too get chance to participate.
seven players in a team and reduced ground size will enable us to conduct the tournament in our technopark ground itself, no need to go out. More over the players will not exhaust soon , hence more people with little physical fitness and stamina will show interest to take part in the tournament, this will improve the game’s spirit and popularity.
In fact more people like to participate but scaring to come forward due to their insufficient fitness and energy(that’s due to our life style) . if u reduce the ground size and time all of them will take part. Then the event will be grand successful.
The organizers must keep in mind that foot ball is not cricket or golf to play any one who wish to play for time pass. it needs fitness and energy that most of the techies don’t have. So we must show some flexibilities from the standard rules and regulations. then only we can attract more crowd and enthusiasm in players and audience. Time of game can also be reduced to 20 or 30 minutes per half from the actual 45 minutes.

The finals of GOAL 2011 will be held on October 15, 2011 @ LNCPE Ground, Kariavattom. UST Global will take on Tata Elxsi for the coveted trophy. 3rd place playoff will be between Allianz Cornhill and Infosys.
Matches will start at 3PM IST.
