Google honours Kerala Techie with Hall of Fame Listing

TechnoparkToday.com>>  Sreenath Sasikumar, a web security consultant and CEO of MashupAcademy, Kerala has entered Google’s Hall Of Fame for finding an important security issue with one of the applications of Google.

The Malayali techie who hails from Calicut has earned a place in Google’s list of bug reporters for finding a P0 level threat, which is infact the highest priority bug. Google has a bug bounty programme in which people can find bugs and report it. As a security analyst Sreenath has been researching on various vulnerabilities and he got an administrative access to a major product. Since it went undetected, he reported the flaw to the company as part of responsible disclosure via their Vulnerability Reward Program and they reviewed the impact of the vulnerability. Based on the evaluation from the security experts from the tech giant, the bug was listed in the most critical priority and honoured him by including him in the Page 27 of Google Hall Of Fame.

There are only around 1,000 people in the world as of now who has been listed in the Hall of Fame. Sreenath, who did B Tech in electronics engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum, has worked at leading tech firms like IBM, DBG, Qburst before starting his own company, MashupAcademy.

He is a Deputy Commander with Kerala Police Cyberdome, a high-tech technological research and development wing of the Police department. He was also the technical reviewer of three books by Packt Publications, Birmingham, UK and also the Global Review Board Member of Mozilla Firefox. In addition to this, he is alos a board memeber of Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) which is a worldwide not-for-profit charitable organization focused on improving the security of software.
