GTech to Organize Mega Carnival to Support Dyslexic Children

carnivalTechnoparkToday.com>> Group of Technology Companies (GTech), the industry body of IT/ITeS companies in Kerala, is organizing a mega carnival for techies on August 1. The event will be organized to raise fund to support Travancore National School, a special school for children with learning disability, one of its kind in the capital.

The carnival will be held at the Jimmy George Indoor Stadium in the city from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Saturday, 1st August 2015. Corporate Dodge Ball, fun games, magic and other entertainments will form the highlights of the event. IT professionals, with their friends and families are expected to participate in large numbers.

The funds will be raised through sale of admission tickets and corporate sponsorship. Tickets are available in all buildings of Technopark.

“According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), one in ten children is believed to have learning disabilities.  Absence of special schools and qualified teaching professionals is a challenge. Research points out that early intervention can make a meaningful impact. Through this initiative, we hope to make a difference,” said GTech secretary Anoop P. Ambika.

The funds raised through the carnival will be used to develop infrastructure at the Travancore National School. The school that operates out of a house near Sasthmangalam now has 40 students. “We have several enquiries from parents of children affected by dyslexia. However, we are unable to enroll more for want of space and other facilities,” said Sandhya Prajin, Director, Travancore National School.

Lets make this event a huge success to extend our supports to the society.
