TechnoparkToday.com>> The green themed summer camp ‘Haritha Nagarotsavam’ initiated by Trivandrum Corporation was inaugurated by Adv V.K. Prasanth (Mayor,TVM) on 19th Apr 2017.
The camp that concludes on 23rd April is said to happen at 4 centres – Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School(Thycaud), Government Higher Secondary School(Kulathoor), Government Girls Higher Secondary School(Peroorkada) and Government Higher Secondary School for Girls(Cotton Hill).
Prakruthi – the voluntary group of Techies working towards Green Thoughts & Green Living, based in Technopark has joined this green initiative campaign along with Corporation at Kulathoor Govt School. Techies will handle the sessions and guide the students to ensure a waste free environment.
The groups will cover Damaged CDs, fish bones, old clothes, dry leaves, banana peel, paint bucket, bits of paper and an old can. Techies would impart waste management knowledge to the students at the school. Moreover a Nature walk have been planned, in which Techies guide the kids to explore school campus to find natural wonders and to examine & learn more about waste accumulated within the campus. Students may also be guided to meet people staying in nearby residents association to spread the awareness on waste management.
Participants of all the four centres will gather at the Museum auditorium on the last day and conducts an exhibition of the products they made, followed by cultural programmes. In addition, those students would be declared as Green Army.
