Healthy discussion with TVM Mayor : Techies shared the Concerns

Technoparktoday.com>> Prathidhwani – the socio cultural Organization of Technopark organized ‘Meet the Mayor’ – an open discussion with Honorable Mayor Shri V K Prashanth on 4th Feb 2016 at Park Centre, Technopark.

The members of Prathidhwani shared the concerns faced by Techies in & around Kazhakootam, which was collected from employees through their website, facebook & whatsapp. Also techies working in different companies raised suggestions and issues which requires Mayor’s attention.

Mayor Shri Prashanth assured support for a good development in Technopark & Kazhakootam. Regarding the street dog issue, TVM Corporation do have dog birth control centre operating in Pettah which is the only facility available in Kerala. He confirmed that street dog squad would be sent in next 2-3 days of time, after which the issues related to street dogs will reduce drastically.

As one of the Techies suggested, Mayor confirmed Corporation would definitely work towards Branding which was lacking and thereby TVM would get more projects, IT firms, educational institutions etc. The Street lights and road maintenance issues near Technopark premises will be solved by end of March 2016. The road from Kariyavattom Church till Technopark will be developed as a model road.

Day care centre for the kids of Technopark Employees under the supervision of Corporation could be set up immediately if an apt space is available. In the upcoming corporation meetings, they do have plans to discuss setting up sewage connection lines from Kazhakootam till Muttathara where the Sewage Treatment plant is set. Moreover the water issues will be discussed with Kerala Water Authority and Corporation would take necessary steps. Renaming of streets to Legends names has to be discussed with Resident’s association and will be considered if no disputes come in.

To set up a Pre-paid Auto counter in Kazhakootam, the same will be discussed in upcoming meetings and will be implemented at the earliest. A study on traffic in Kazhakootam which is currently in progress may help to regulate & improve the current traffic conditions. Soon, a comfort station will be opened for public within Village Office premises like ‘Take a Break’ facility in Shangumugham. Technopark CEO Shri Girish Babu declared a sponsorship of INR 2 Lakhs from Technopark towards this initiative.

Technopark has given 1.5 acres of land to TRIDA for the construction of Bus Terminal which includes a shopping mall.

The meeting was presided by Mr Rajeev Krishnan(Gen Secretary, Prathidhwani), Mr Raneesh(Prathidhwani) welcomed the Chief guests & Techies and Mr Bijumon(President, Prathidhwani) handed over memento to Mayor and presented Vote of Thanks.

  1. Need a traffic signal at Kazhakkoottam at the junction where the Bypass meets the NH, to avoid chaotic conditions prevailing there.

  2. Political hoardings at Kazhakuttam where the NH intersects the bypass road are blocking the view of drivers and are causing many accidents. These should be removed immediately!!!
