Technopark is insisting the two wheeler riders to wear helmet, from Nov 3rd onwards.
Today the security people stopped the two wheeler riders at gate and noted the vehicle number and name & company details from identity card.
They also warned that they won’t open the gate, and allow anyone to enter with out a helmet from tomorrow onwards.
so readers and techies, what is your stand on this issue? share your thoughts as comments…
this is absolute nonsense. why technopark is bothered about the helmet? even kerala police is not bothered now a days. and it is very difficult to wear helmet in this weather conditions.
So techies should request to withdraw this.
Tell them to check the license as well as the seatbelts.
Pollution certificate can be also verified.
it is too difficult to wear helmet for two people, suppose if the couples are coming, how can they wear helmet for the technopark only?
THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. NOBODY IS THERE TO MAKE THEM HEAR TECHIES VOICE?
It seems they are going for / gone for some certifications.
If they are really concerned about the employees safety,
1. Control the speed of vehicles within campus ( Now cars and bikes are traveling in 60 km/h)
2. Insist healthy working environment in companies
3. Make arrangements to serve quality and safe food
Those are the very first things to implement. simply wearing a helmet within the campus cannot make the employees safe.
This is not going to work. They might block the two-wheelers for a day or two. Majority will come in without helmets and they might block the gate since kerala is well known for ‘minnal pani mudakku’ (sudden strike).
Its indeed a good change. We have to obey rules. I love techno park management.
Do Agree with Praveen. We are supposed to obey traffic rules. Its for our safety only. Hats off to G 4 securities.
and helmet is a ‘helpmate’ for those who has clean kashandi (bald head)..
I am not sure what technopark is doing is legal. They are taking law into their hands.
Just because they need to get some certification, they can’t go around harassing bike riders. I am seeing people being harassed by the security at gate.
At this rate, they can force everyone to undergo medical checkup before entering campus, force people to give blood donation and even force them marry only techies from Kerala….
They can only instruct to do something, but forcing to do so or blocking the employees at the gate because of the helmet is not acceptable.
Here the govt, and police itself is not bothering about these, in a much dangerous public roads. then why the technopark?
is there anyone to complain it to the authorities?

If it’s really due to safety concerns, then they should first be doing what Prasad said.
I was stopped 2day 2 times (1st in morning & 2nd during lunch break). They started harassing (not to mention that I was late 2 work because of this) & I was warned that I have to pay fine from tomorrow for not wearing helmet!!!!!!
Come on guys do we really need to pay this???? & if we pay, to whose pocket this amount will be going????

We should protest against this. this is not acceptable.
Let the traffic police to do this. Technopark securities are not police. They don’t have any rights to stop us because not wearing helmet/seat belt.
Just give an awareness about wearing helmet, but NOT force any technopark employee to do that.
securities or whoever instructing them to do so are trying to make problems.
This is not the job of securities. Do your security jobs perfectly rather than being traffic police.
Safety and security are different, provide better security to technoparkm and leave the personal safety to the individuals. they know how to protect themselves.
Please Don’t make any new issues, technopark is functioning very well right now.

Anyway we should be able to enter Tpak, w/o wearing helmet (not leaving our bikes outside nor paying the fine).. For this we have 2 stay united & inform the authority

We need to stand united and protest it.
If the security denied us to enter technopark with out helmet, please stay outside, and gather as a group and go to the technopark office and let them know our concern.If still they are offensive, let’s approach the politicians and other means.
This is a high time to be united and find someone to stand for our rights and concerns.
i wear a helmet to office evry day.. but i will join u all, if we decide to unite for this cause..
Awareness is fine, & ppl are mature enough to take care of their own security.. Where on earth have anyone heard of security ppl charging fine for not wearing a helmet to office.. lol.. this is funny & stupid..
WE SHOULD PROTEST AGAINST THIS.
Technopark employees are above 21 years old anyway. they are very well aware about their own safety. wear a helmet is the personal decision than a company policy. its something like you should wear only jockey underwears, since all other local underwears may cause deceases.
What a foolish decision it is? if it is for the sake of the certification though, how can you justify?
by the way what is the helmet policy of technopark? is it similar to the kerala police or something different
1. Helmet is needed for the person who is travelling on back seat?
2. ISI certified helmet is needed? if so, how can you assure they are ISI certified or fake? if it is not ISI certified do the technopark is responsible for the mishaps caused by that?
3. Can you insure every empolyee who is wearing a helmet in campus?
4. Is there enough space in every office to keep all these helmets?
As someone says, security and safety are different. Security guys only needs to take care of security of technopark. not the safety of individuals, since they are capable to take care of that.
If you take the count of deaths happened during these 10 years, you can see that more techies were died because of heart attack and other deceases than the road accidents without helmets. so try to solve the real problem, instead of making such nonsenses. it would only help the helmet companies to do more business.
so please gather at the gate and protest.

They don’t have the rights to block you at the gate because you are not wearing helmet. those kind of inspection belongs to kerala police only. if they started doing that, that would be the violation of the laws.

Technopark, Thanks for understanding our concern. you once again proved that you are professionals.
We employees are very much satisfied with the current operations of technopark, though some minor issues here and there. but we know very well that those are not in direct control of you people. also we are well aware that you are running with very limited resources and support from the authorities, we really appreciate that.
The only request from our side is, please don’t make our life miserable.Let’s work and live beautifully with mutual help and understanding.
This is realy absurd nonsense . the authorities have no right to make this rule as they have no concern about the working environment and requirement of the teches.
the average rate of food over the stupid restuarents are very costly. i single silly biriyani cost 85 rs in thejaswany which is no better than ordinary kanji
and lemon juice costs around 15rs for a glass….the cheapest drink available here in thejaswany
even at such cost more than three restuarents were closed and the rest still increasing the price
remember there are still people working here for 4 digit salary

There is no point in blaming the restaurants alone. the rent and electricity charges imposed on them are much higher than the rates which is given by the software companies.
How can a restaurant can operate in such an enviornment? there is no subsidy for electricity, they are giving industrial rates, at the same time the offices in technopark is enjoying a special rate on electricity and rent.
They need to cover all these charges including the salary of the staffs, maintenance, gas, transportation and raw materials from the profit they are making from the business.
If the govt want to provide techies food for nominal rates, they should provide these facilities at a nominal rate. technopark is also helpless in this regard.
This is ATROCIOUS…
Why do they want to control us??? It is our freedom. Helmet is ok in National Highway due to heavy traffic, why bother inside Technopark… ???

i am not blaming any restaurent.. i belive its just the authorities causing the problem. the top floor is taken bulkly by vital links
if they could do something with this……..
i do blame the restuarents for the quality of the food they provide..
i can enjoyed much better food at half the price….so even at high prices why are they not providing good food atleast!
as we r moving away the topic i should say why the authorities are not taking any action for basic needs like food rather than imposing rules over the head..
Park Centre may be wrong in the way they implement things especially under pressure. They do not have any vision in doing anything. How long did it take them to install street lights in front of thejaswini. shows that basic infra and thinking is missing.
Coming to the helmets, pls ignore the park centre warning and try to save your head.
Don’t you think it is important to wear your helmet?
Don’t blame the park centre blindly, they have also limitations, as far as i know they are working with very less resource and not much support from any authorities. remember, that technopark is owned by govt. and do i need to tell you the things with govt? it will take years to process a certain request.
If you guys all make noise in forums like this…Nothing will change.
Please team together to protest or meet TP management and talk.
I hope incidents like this will help techies to unite and initiate kind of welfare organization whch can take up our issues.
