IBS to modernize the cargo operations of china airlines

IBS Software, a leading SaaS solutions provider for the travel and cargo industry based in Technopark, has recently entered into an agreement with China Airlines (CI), a Taiwanese carrier. The agreement entails the use of IBS Software’s iCargo solution as the new cargo management system for CI, with the aim of facilitating its cargo digitisation through iCargo’s single platform. This move is expected to maximise synergies across different entities and transform CI’s business globally.

By implementing iCargo, China Airlines will consolidate its sales, import and export operations, air mail handling, and revenue accounting capabilities into a single platform. This optimally-automated digital technology is expected to offer maximum efficiency and opportunities for sales management.

According to China Airlines’ senior vice-president of cargo, Eddy Liu, the airline has been working to modernise its digital capabilities for years, and the Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated the need for change. He believes that SaaS is the right solution for the airline and expects to build a strong partnership with IBS Software. He also emphasises the importance of maintaining compliance with data integrity.

IBS Software’s Middle East SVP, Gautam Shekar, is honoured to be selected by China Airlines to support its growth journey. He says that this agreement aligns with IBS Software’s long-term strategy to expand its presence in the APAC market, and he believes that the partnership will enable faster time-to-market for China Airlines’ products and services.
