IEDC Nodal officers Annual Meetup held at Technology Innovation Zone

TechnoparkToday.com>> Kerala Startup Mission organized India’s 1st largest network of IEDC (Innovation Entrepreneurship Development Center) Nodal officers Meetup at Technology Innovation Zone, Kalamaserry.  The nodal officers are the 1st level mentors for every student startups from colleges.  Empowering the faculty to nurture the startup ecosystem in the state was the aim of the event.

The event was a success by participation from 155 colleges across the state.

Kerala Startup Mission is the nodal agency for the state to implement the Technology Startup Policy in the state. As part of the implementation KSUM have initiated various programs starting from schools, colleges and startups .The college level initiatives run by the state government connects 190 Innovation Entrepreneurship Development centres in the state. These IEDC are small incubators within the colleges wherein students are given exposure to develop their innovative idea while studying. These IEDC s are monitored by the Nodal Officers who are in charge of the respective IEDCs’.The initial screening of a startup idea from a student is first screened by the concerned Nodal officer.

M Sivasankar IAS addressed the Nodal Officers and has delivered the thought process of the state government in promoting entrepreneurship in the colleges. The colleges have a large pool of students who are keen to be entrepreneurs and the Nodal officers are the Key point in promoting/screening the ideas. When these nodal officers are made capable of assessing the ideas and identifying the business opportunities more startups will be coming out from the colleges.
