Indiasoft 2012 to be held in Hyderabad from 21-23 March

INDIASOFT 2012, the flagship IT event of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) is to be held in Hyderabad on 21-23 March 2012, will be attended by 400 foreign delegates from over 50 countries.

2012 edition of India’s premier IT show INDIASOFT, which is supported by the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Ministry of Communication and Information Technology will have many new facets. Innovation and value addition to software solutions are the main thrust of the show, where more than 200 Indian IT firms will display their cutting edge solutions and products.

“It is taking place at a time when the global economy is showing some nascent signs of recovery. The growth data coming from the US now is more encouraging and we are getting some positive vibes from some quarters that there can be a remarkable turnaround of the economy by mid 2012,” says Mr. DK Sareen, Executive Director, ESC.

IT landscape globally is undergoing a change and Indian IT scenario would have to adapt to the changing needs of the overseas clients. For instance, penetration of IT in other business sectors is increasing phenomenally, be it relating to governance, education, day to day handling of small businesses, legal sphere or for providing services to households. Secondly, more and more large business units are considering IT as a different business units and while enlisting vendors are looking at the whole spectrum of service providers and not necessarily the in-house systems. Thirdly, a large number of developing countries and less developed countries are embarking on IT application, which would push up substantially the IT businesses.

Mr. P Garapati, Vice Chairman ESC said that INDIASOFT 2012 is designed to project India’s IT capabilities in the tier 2 & 3 cities which are keen to work with their counterparts in new & emerging markets. It will also highlight that Indian Software industry possesses unmatchable quality software & services to offer. “We are getting excellent support from the state government for organizing the event,” he added.

Mr. DK Sareen, Executive Director, ESC said that it is the third time INDIASOFT being held in the city of Hyderabad. Our responses in the previous occasions were overwhelming. “We expect a huge IT business build in the state of Andhra Pradesh in the aftermath of INDIASOFT 2012 having regard to the fact we have on board a large number of IT buyers from abroad and a record number of Indian exhibitors of all hues-small, medium and large,” he added.

The delegates from developed countries including representatives of large companies will assess advantages of entering into long term agreements with Indian companies for meeting their IT needs viz a viz the IT units in their own companies. The delegates from developing and least developed countries, who form a major part of the total delegates, will explore the possibilities for entering into long term relationships with the Indian exhibitors in areas like ERP, legal outsourcing, governance etc.

According to Mr. S. Radhakrishnan, Chairman, ESC, India is still the clear leader in software development and information technology enabled services (ITeS), over 90 percent of India’s software and ITeS exports is with the US and Europe, wherein the US accounts for the lion’s share at 60 percent. “We at ESC is assiduously pursuing a policy to empower the Indian IT exporters to go up in the value chain by exporting high-ended software and complex solutions to the traditional markets and to penetrate intensely into the unorthodox markets like Japan, China, Latin America, Africa and Middle East,” he says.

INDIASOFT 2012, seeks to improve the visibility of the Indian software industry especially, the SMEs and the start- up companies in the global IT market. The focus would be on business services, e security, finance, banking, Insurance, manufacturing, education & training, embedded software, animation, packaged software, and many more innovative technologies. Several IT entrepreneurs will use INDIASOFT 2012 a platform to launch innovative IT products & services.

Delegates to the event will include representatives of governments, private sector, non-governmental organizations from countries like Brazil, Venezuela, Panama, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia etc. For the second time, the Council will be hosting 245 IT Buyer Delegation from US, Canada, UK, EU, Middle East, China, Japan, Korea, SAARC region etc.
