TechnoparkToday.com: Civil constructions and infrastructure development works at the project site of the Life Sciences Park at Thonnakkal in Thiruvananthapuram was kick started today, with handing over of the project site to M/s. GreenworthInfructures Pvt. Ltd, by the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC). The site handing over agreement was signed in the presence of Shri. SatyajeetRajan I.A.S, the Managing Director of KSIDC & Principal Secretary- Industries, between Jyothikumar, the Director-Project & COO of the Life Sciences Park and Shri.P.J. Jacob, Director of Greenworth.
Great deal of pre-project planning and detailed facilities design have gone into the conception of the project. Unlike normal industrial Parks, there are veryspecialised requirements like clean environmental conditions, supply of utilities including Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen, Purified and Distilled Lab-grade Water etc. for the companies in the Park. “All such requirements have well been taken care of during the relatively longer pre-project stage, and the Life Sciences Park is all set to emerge as one of the top destinations for life sciences based industries and R&D activities in India”, said Shri. SatyajeetRajan. “The Park has been modelled on the lines of the best of its kind in the world”, he added. Creation of common infrastructure including internal roads in the Park will be completed by June 2015.
KSIDC has already lined-up half a dozen start-up companies which are interested in moving into the Park, once the infrastructure is ready. The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University is also planning to establish an Animal House and Centre for Clinical Research within the Life Sciences Park, for which land has already been allotted by KSIDC.
