Got an Innovative Idea..? KSIDC will Provide Funding to support Star-ups

TechnoparkToday.com>> Encouraged by the growing ‘start-up’ culture among the youngsters in the State, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation has created a Rs. 10 crore angel fund to support innovative start-ups this financial year. The angel funding would be extended to any innovative project — IT, bio-technology, agriculture or any other sector.The maximum seed capital will be Rs 25 lakh for each project.

Young Entrepreneurs Summit 2014 (YES), A Government of Kerala initiative to foster entrepreneurship in young minds, will be held on 12 September 2014, at  Adlux International Convention Centre,  Karukutty, Ernakulam Dist.

The objective of YES is to instill an entrepreneurial mind set in the youth of Kerala and should be viewed as the commencement of a journey, and not an end in itself.

The main highlights of YES include the launching of infrastructural initiatives such as:

  • Dedicated incubators and labs for emerging sectors like Life and Medical Sciences, Agri-tech, Food processing, Marine, Fashion and Electronics
  • Training and skill development programs such as Boot Camps for college students, junior Boot camps for schools
  • Internationalizing course curricula in cutting edge disciplines
  • Provision of technology and tool-kits
  • Creation of Innovation zones
  • Value added services including mentoring by experts and professionals
