IT Infrastructure Companies Get Stamp Duty Exemption

The  Kerala Cabinet  decided to exempt companies that develop infrastructure for government IT parks from registration fees on land transfers and stamp duty.

This decision is in accordance  with the IT Policy adopted by the State in 2007, and will apply to IT parks where the government holds 51 per cent or more shares.

Currently registration/ stamp duty fees are payable on any purchase or transfer of land, and the exemption would be another step in the efforts of the Kerala Government to assist the development of  newer infrastructure  for the  IT industry .
