Justice for Sreejith: Youth’s 765 days old strike gets support

TechnoparkToday.com>>  It is going to be another impact story of social and online media.  Sreejith, who has been conducting a strike in front of Government Secretariat for the last 765 day, has suddenly got an unprecedented support from people from all walks of life throng in front of Secretariat to express their solidarity.  Sreejith started his strike seeking a proper investigation into the custodial death of this brother Sreejeev at Parassala police station in 2014.

Members of various social media groups already started gathering in front of Secretariat.

It was on on May 19, 2014 Sreejeev was taken into custody. He was admitted to medical college hospital the next day, the police claiming that he consumed poison inside the lockup. He died at the hospital the following day.  Sreejeev’s family alleged that his arrest was part of a conspiracy between the police and the family of a girl with whom the youth was in love.

A Facebook collective is scheduled to gather at the venue on Sunday evening at 5:30 pm (January 14) offering solidarity.  An online petition has been started in change.org to deliver it to Prime minster, and getting wide acceptance in the online platforms.
